Hi,

Hope you are feeling better. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience at Jakes. I was surprised to hear they were still going. I have not heard any mention of that place for years. I used to go to Jukes, in Taipei city a lot about 5 years ago until that closed down. I think it was part of the same family that run it. I used to love the English breakfast there. I am interested to try Jakes in Tienmu now just to see if the food really is as bad as you say.

Take care.

Daz

I have landed in hospital with serious food poisoning after having breakfast at Jakes Kitchen in Tienmu last Wednesday.  I am still in the hospital and it is more than a week later.

I have had 2 other experiences there.  The first time I went there I just got a general feeling of it being a dirty place and the food didn't really taste like anything, but anyway, their pies looked pretty interesting and they had lemon meringue pie on the menu.  A few weeks later I went there with some friends to try the pie.  The pie tasted like metal and dishwash liquid.  As we are, very helpful and politely told them about this.  The owner who baked the pie, was really offended and rude towards us, and he couldn't handle the critisism.

So yes, 3 out of 3 times the experience was not good, that must say something.

So, if you value your body and your job, don't eat there.

Has anyone else had any experiences there, good or bad, please share.  I wouldn't want to give them a bad reputation if some people really love to go there.
